Metric Threads - Light & HeavyMetric Threads are common in Europe. They have a common male with 3 different female halves. The male has a straight thread with a 24° seat and a recessed counterbore to match the tube O.D. used with it. The female may be a tube, nut & olive, a tapered nose /Globeseal flareless swivel or a tapered nose/Globeseal flareless swivel with an O-Ring in the nose. Two fittings may have the same but may not seat and be able to be tightened as there are two types of tube/standpipe sizes for certain sizes. For example an 18 mm thread can have a 12 mm tube/standpipe (12L - Light Series) or a 10 mm tube/standpipe (10S - Heavy Series). The correct fitting must be used so the Male and Female threads seal properly. Click here for help in identifying threads |
